She Is Sitting in the Night<\/em> est une r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tation queer contemporaine d\u2019un magnifique jeu de tarot f\u00e9ministe des ann\u00e9es 1980 qui documente une conversation \u00e0 travers les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations et les m\u00e9diums. C\u2019est \u00e0 la fois un instrument de lecture du tarot et une c\u00e9l\u00e9bration de la production culturelle queer et f\u00e9ministe, tant pass\u00e9e que contemporaine.<\/p>\n

About Metonymy Press:<\/p>\n

Metonymy is a Montreal-based press that publishes literary fiction and nonfiction by emerging writers. We try to reduce barriers to publishing for authors whose perspectives are underrepresented in order to produce quality materials relevant to queer, feminist, and social justice communities. We really want to keep gay booklovers satisfied.<\/span><\/p>\n

About Oliver Pickle:<\/p>\n

After an accidental debut as a professional tarot reader in 2009, Oliver began doing tarot readings regularly, at bars and in parks and on balconies. At the request of a good friend, Oliver began writing about the Thea\u2019s Tarot deck\u2014a process that was at once prolonged and fruitful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Oliver is, more generally, a Montreal-based, trans-identified writer, publisher, and editor. Their work has appeared in Lambda Award\u2013winning The Collection: Short Fiction from the Transgender Vanguard<\/em> (Topside Press, 2012) and make\/shift<\/em> magazine, among other publications. Oliver released Gays in the Workplace<\/em> in 2011 and is currently working on a book of short stories.<\/span><\/p>\n

This workshop is a free event happening at Venus Envy, 1598 Barrington St.\u00a0Venus Envy can be accessed by wheelchair, but unfortunately, our (gender-neutral) bathroom cannot. There is a public, wheelchair accessible bathroom at Starbucks, next door.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
