This event has been postponed due to COVID. Please stay tuned for updates. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Join Shanice Nicole and Kezna Dalz, the creators of DEAR BLACK GIRLS, for an afternoon of reading, storytelling, snacks, and other fun family activities.

Parc Georges-St-Pierre
999 ave. Oxford
Saturday, October 15, 1 – 3 PM
(rain date October 16)

This is a free event. There will be copies of the children’s book Dear Black Girls for sale from Saga Bookstore.

DEAR BLACK GIRLS is a letter to all Black girls. Every single day poet and educator Shanice Nicole is reminded of how special Black girls are and of how lucky she is to be one. Illustrations by Kezna Dalz support the book’s message that no two Black girls are the same but they are all special—that to be a Black girl is a true gift. In this celebratory poem, Kezna and Shanice remind young readers that despite differences, they all deserve to be loved just the way they are.

Let’s keep each other safe! We strongly encourage adults in attendance to wear masks.

**This event is co-sponsored by Saga Bookstore and Women on the Rise**

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please get in touch if you have any questions. And don't forget to check out the "shop local" buttons on our product pages in order to find the indie bookstore closest to you carrying the book you're looking for.
